Equilox II Faster Setting Adhesive is an extremely strong resin that can be used for anything from repairing small quarter cracks to reconstructing an entire hoof wall, yet flexible enough for easy filing, shaping, and even nailing. Equilox II Adhesive has the same properties as our Equilox I formula, but a faster cure time for colder weather.
Set time: Sets in 4 – 6 minutes, final cure in 6 – 8 minutes at 70° Fahrenheit
Shelf life: At least 6 months from the fill date indicated on the label — or longer if refrigerated
From repairing small quarter cracks to reconstructing an entire hoof wall, Equilox Adhesive (and its trade secret technology for better bonding) is the farrier’s best tool for the job when compared to the other most commonly used product.
Only Equilox Adhesive remains flexible enough after curing to allow for easy filing and shaping.
While extremely flexible, Equilox remains intact while enduring tremendous wear and tear.
The Equilox repair will stay tightly bonded to the natural hoof for up to eight weeks or more.
When cured, the hoof can be rasped, nailed, and trimmed — just like natural hoof wall.
As the natural hoof wall regenerates down, the Equilox adhesion is trimmed off.
Equilox Adhesive cures faster with a lack of oxygen (wrapping the hoof) and when heat is applied. To lengthen the cure time, refrigerate Equilox prior to use.
Equilox Adhesive contains an etching agent specifically for glue-on aluminum shoes, so footwear goes in place and, once cured, stays there.
Once applied, Equilox sets up in minutes — but still allows for readjustment of the shoe if needed prior to cure.
